Translation of Surah An-Naba in English:
They ask, “What is this great announcement?” Of which they are in doubt. No! They will soon come to know. No! They will soon come to know. Have We not made the earth a resting place, and the mountains as stakes? And We have created you in pairs, and made your sleep a place of rest, and made the night a clothing, and made the day a means of livelihood. And We have built above you seven strong ones, and made a blazing lamp. And We have sent down from the rain clouds pouring water, that We may bring forth with it grain and vegetation, and gardens of thick growth. Verily, the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, the Day when the Trumpet shall be sounded, and you shall come forth in crowds; and the heavens shall be opened as doors, and the mountains shall be removed as a mirage. Verily, Hell is a place of ambush, a dwelling for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundary limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, etc.), they will abide therein for ages. They will not taste therein (any) coolness, nor any drink, Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). Verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) completely. And all things We have recorded in a Book. So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. Verily, for the Muttaqun (the pious – see V.2:2), there will be a success (Paradise); Gardens and vineyards; And voluptuous women of equal age; And a cup full (to the brim). No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). A reward from your Lord, an ample calculated gift (according to the best of their good deeds). The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, the Most Beneficent, none can dare to speak with Him (on the Day of Resurrection except after His Leave). The Day that Ar-Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] and the angels will stand forth in rows, none shall speak except him whom the Most Beneficent (Allah) allows, and he will speak what is right. That Day will be the true Day of sorting out. So whosoever wills, let him seek a place with his Lord (by obeying Him in this worldly life)! Verily, We have warned you of a near torment (i.e. the torment in the Hereafter) the Day when a man shall see that which his hands have sent forth (i.e. the good and the evil which he has done), and the disbeliever will say: “Woe to me! Would that I were dust!”
