surah Al-Burooj

The text of surah Al-Burooj in Arabic:

1. وَالسَّمَاء ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ
2. وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُودِ
3. وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ
4. قُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الأُخْدُودِ
5. النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُودِ
6. إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ
7. وَهُمْ عَلَى مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ
8. وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلاَّ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ
9. الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَاللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
10. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيقِ
11. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ ذَلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيرُ
12. إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
13. إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
14. وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ
15. ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيدُ
16. فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
17. هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْجُنُودِ
18. فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
19. بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي تَكْذِيبٍ
20. وَاللَّهُ مِن وَرَائِهِم مُّحِيطٌ
21. بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَّجِيدٌ
22. فِي لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍ

Translation of surah Al-Burooj in English:

And the sky with its constellations, and the promised Day, and the witness and the witnessed, the slaying of the Companions of the Cave, the fire with its fuel, when they were seated therein, and they were witnesses to what they did to the believers. And they had not done any wrong to them, except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy, to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is Witness over all things. Indeed, those who persecuted the believing men and believing women and then did not repent, for them is the punishment of Hell, and for them is the punishment of the Burning Fire. Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. Indeed, the power of your Lord is great and exalted. Indeed, it is He who begins and repeats. And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, Owner of the Throne, the Glorious, Doer of what He intends. Has there come to you the story of the soldiers – of Pharaoh and Thamud? But those who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial. And Allah is encompassing of what they do. But it is the Qur’an that is honored. In a protected record.

How to pronounce surah Al-Burooj in English

wassamāʾa dhātil burūji

wal-yawmil mawʿūdi

washāhidin wa mashhūdin

qutila ʾaṣḥābul-ʾukhdūdi

annāri dhātil waqūdi

iḏ hum ʿalayhā quʿūdun

wahum ʿalā mā yafʿalūna bil-muʾminīna shuhūdun

wamā naqamū minhum illā ʾan yuʾminū billāhil-ʿazīzil-ḥamīdi

alladhī lahu mulkus-samāwāti wal-arḍi wal-lāhu ʿalā kulli shayʾin shahīdun

inna alladhīna fatanūl-muʾminīna wal-muʾmināti thumma lam yatūbū falahum ʿaḍābun jahannama walahum ʿaḍābul-ḥarīqi

inna alladhīna āmanū wa ʿamilūṣ-ṣāliḥāti lahum jannātun tajrī min taḥtihāl-anhāru dhālika al-fawzul-kabīru

inna baṭsha rabbika lashadīdun

innahu huwa yubdiʾu wa yuʿīdu

wahuwal-ghafūrul-wadūd

dhul-ʿaršil-majīd

faʿʿālun limā yurīdu

hal ātaka ḥadīṯul-junūdi

firʿawna wa ṯamūda

balilladhīna kafarū fī takdhībin

wa-llāhu min warāʾihim muḥīṭun

bal huwa qurʾānun majīdun

fī lawḥin maḥfūẓin
