Translation of Surah Ash-Shams in English:
And the sun and its brightness,
And the moon when it follows it,
And the day when it displays it,
And the night when it covers it,
And the sky and He who constructed it,
And the earth and He who spread it,
And a soul and He who perfected it,
And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness,
Indeed he succeeds who purifies it,
And indeed he fails who corrupts it.
Thamud denied [Prophet] Salih and the terrible cry,
When he brought them the clearest proof.
And the messenger of Allah said, “This is the she-camel of Allah [as a sign of] guidance, so let her drink.”
But they denied him and hamstrung her, so their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them].
And He does not fear the consequence thereof.
