Translation of Surah Al-Nazi’at in English:
And the ones driven out with violence,
And the ones who are active,
And the ones who are swimming,
Then the ones who are running,
Then the ones who are managing,
On the day when the earthquake will be tremendous,
Followed by the second shock,
Hearts on that day will be trembling,
Their eyes will be downcast,
They will say, “Are we to be returned to our former state?
What if we had become bones, decayed?”
They will say, “That would be a great loss and waste!”
It will be but a single shout,
And then they will be looking on.
Has the story of Moses come to you?
When his Lord called out to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa,
“Go to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed.
Say to him, ‘Would you purify yourself,
And I will guide you to your Lord, so you may fear Him?’
So he showed him the great sign,
But he denied and disobeyed.
Then he turned away,
And gathered and proclaimed,
Saying, “I am your Lord, the Most High.”
So Allah seized him with punishment of the Hereafter and the first life.
Indeed, in that is a lesson for those who fear.
Are you more difficult to create or is the heaven He constructed?
He raised its height and made it perfect,
And He darkened its night and brought out its light,
And after that He spread the earth,
And brought forth from it its water and pasture,
And He made the mountains firm,
A provision for you and your livestock.
But when the great disaster comes,
The day when man will remember what he strove for,
And the Hellfire will be brought forth for whoever sees,
Then as for him who transgressed,
And preferred the life of this world,
Indeed, Hellfire will be his refuge.
But as for him who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from desire,
Indeed, Paradise will be his refuge.
They will ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival?
To what are you relating it?
To your Lord is its finality.
You are only a warner for those who fear it.
It will be, on the Day they see it, as if they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof.
